    Hello,

my wife's changing platform - it's a jump from WP to Android. Long story short - choice of handsets is between Honor 9 and Xiaomi mi 6. I'd prefer the latter (Xiaomi) but main question is - what about second sim card?

One of the most important features is dual-sim. Primary SIM would be on Three so there shouldn't be a problem with LTE (apart maybe from travelling to Highlands, heard - even though 4G still works - is not as good as on models working on 800 and not 850), my only question is second sim. It's gonna be from polish mobile network (Orange), no need for data or LTE or 4G, it's just for texts and phone calls. Would it work ok? On frequency check it 's not showing 2g or 2.5G under "Three". Do I presume correctly that second SIM would work (on stand-by) in 2G mode only and therefor it's a no for Three network?

    Thanks for help.

Most Dual SIM devices utilize the 1st SIM for 4G/LTE mobile internet connectivity and the 2nd SIM for 3G/2G mobile internet connectivity. I believe that you can disable mobile internet connectivity on the 2nd SIM but I am not 100% sure about that.

    Thanks for the answer.

But would phone calls/texts on 2nd sim slot work anyways? I mean if 2G for Three in UK is not listed as available for Xiaomi devices - and 2nd sim slot works in 2G mode only?

Sorry if I made it unclear.

Phone calls and text messages should work perfectly fine on the 2nd SIM. That is if you can still get reception on it. Seeing as you are looking to purchase a GSM device anyway, you should not have any issues with it.
