As of right now the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are the best phones you can get. Also, the edge to edge display is absolutely gorgeous. There is nothing out there in the market that has a display screen like the S8.

I noticed you did not state your budget, but it varies within each price bracket. I can only assume (not in the order) that these are the best 2017 phones (including the new releases) below:

    Samsung Note 8 - S8/S8Plus
    LG G6
    Google Pixel/Google Pixel XL
    One Plus 5
    Motorola Z
    iPhone 7/7Plus - 8/8Plus - X
    HTC U11

    For budget Phones:
    Motorola G5 Plus
Huawei Honor 6x or Honor 5X
    Lenovo P2
    Motorola G4/G4 Plus/G4Play

    There are many others.

Right now for me the S8/S8+ and the Note 8 (if you want the S Pen) are the best phone. The S8+ would be suffice if you don't need the S Pen and want a large screen. The Note 8 has almost identical specs to S8+. If you are looking for a phone that fits nice on your hand, then the S8 would be suffice.

I would just say that best camera is decided as per the individual usage and preference. Budget, features, camera and much more things are taken into consideration to decide the best phone.

If talking about camera alone, I can say LG and Samsung have the best. If considering price, those two brands have a wide range of phones to cover the prices as well. However, Ryan asked in general the best phones and did not focus on camera. Is there a reason you directly mentioned "camera"?
