How to change the spelling language in PowerPoint

If you want to change the language of PowerPoint’s spelling checker, the steps vary depending on your operating system.

In Windows

1. Open PowerPoint and navigate to File > Options > Langauge.
2. Under Office authoring languages and proofing, you will see a list of available languages. Note that you must have your desired language pack installed before the option to use it will appear here.
3. Select your desired language and then click Set as Preferred.
4. If the language you want is not shown, click Add a language and follow the on-screen instructions.

On a Mac

1. Open PowerPoint and navigate to Tools > Language.
   
2. Select the language you want.
3. Click OK.

How to change the PowerPoint app UI language

In Windows

1. Open PowerPoint and navigate to File > Options > Langauge.
2. Under Office display language, select the language you want. Note that you must have your desired language pack installed before the option to use it will appear here.
3. Select your desired language and then click Set as Preferred.
4. If the language you want to use is not shown, click Install additional display languages from Office.com and follow the on-screen instructions.

On a Mac

In macOS, you must change your entire operating system’s language for PowerPoint to change its UI language. Here is how to do that:

1. Open Apple Menu > System Preferences > Language & Region.
2. Select your desired language in the Preferred Languages list by dragging it to the top of the list.
3. If you don’t see the language you want, click the Plus (+) sign and add it.
4. Restart PowerPoint for the changes to take effect.
