To the disappointment of some, the Xperia Miro was announced close to two months ago on Sony’s Facebook page. Not that there’s anything wrong with the device, it’s just that fans were hoping for a high-end phone that the company seemed to hint when the teaser went up, instead of getting yet another mid-range offering from the Japanese company. But let’s leave that behind, shall we?

We have good news for those in the UK who like what they see in the Xperia Miro handsets  – a colorful bunch of devices  – and not too busy watching the Olympics: they can soon get the phone from Carphone Warehouse.

The Xperia Miro is expected to hit stores sometimes in August, but since there’s no firm release date yet, it’s best to register yourself to get timely updates and notifications of when you can part with your money in exchange for the Android smartphone. If only they’d provided some kind of price estimation for the phone, but no such luck.

Guesstimating the cost shouldn’t be that hard if you know the specs, and it’s one we’re happy to oblige. The Xperia Miro is a compact 3.5-inch phone with full Facebook integration. With its 4GB internal storage, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 5MP rear camera, and a VGA front-facing camera – you’ll never run out of space for those Instagram outtakes. Moreover, the Xperia Miro’s 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A processor should run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich decently.
