Canadians should get themselves ready – their pockets and wallets, that is – for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime is hitting Staples Canada anytime soon. Many have seen that Staples Canada has already listed the Transformer Prime as “coming soon” on the Staples website.

There have been rumors or speculations that the Transformer Prime will not be reaching Canada, but we weren’t exactly sure where those came from or why such rumors existed. Nonetheless, we are happy to announce that Canadians will have something to look forward to in the holidays.

The ASUS Transformer Prime comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display and a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor. This tablet also has Wi-Fi capabilities, an 8-megapixel camera, and 1 GB of RAM. The tablet runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb but ASUS had assured earlier that an update for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will also be coming.

Regarding pricing and availability, there is no specific information yet, however rumor has it that it may be priced at US$599 for a 32-GB model of the ASUS Transformer Prime tablet. This was quite a bummer for Canadians, considering that the tablet is priced for US$499 in the U.S. However, this is a power-packed tablet you surely would not want to miss.

I for one, am pretty excited for this promising tablet. How about you? Do you think the price is reasonable enough for the Transformer Prime?
