TL;DR
  • Bose has launched the QC 35 II Gaming Headset
  • The headphones come with a detachable mic and a desktop controller.
  • The headset offers up to 40 hours of battery life in wired mode and 20 hours in wireless mode.

When it comes to premium active noise cancellation headsets, Bose’s Quiet Comfort 35 II has long remained the gold standard. It now has a successor in the form of the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700, but the QC 35 II story is far from over. The headset is still a great purchase at its reduced price, and Bose just gave it the gaming treatment to make it even more appealing.

The company has outfitted the QC 35 II with a Discord and TeamSpeak-certified microphone and a desktop volume controller to turn it into gaming headphones. Called the Quiet Comfort 35 II Gaming Headset, the revamped headphones come at a price of $329.95. The package contains the same ol’ QC 35 II headphones and a removable gaming module made up of a mic that attaches to your PC using a 3.5mm headphone jack. Bose claims that the mic is designed to reduce background noise so your voice can be heard loud and clear.

There’s also a PC desktop controller in the box to lower or raise the master volume and cycle through four levels of mic monitoring. “This feature lets you self-regulate the sound of your own voice — and avoid shouting at your teammates,” the company claims. Bose also promises up to 40 hours of battery life in wired gaming mode and up to 20 hours in wireless mode.

All the other features remain the same as the original QC 35 II, including one-touch Google Assistant/Alexa support. We can’t vouch for the mic and PC desktop controller, but the sound quality of the headphones is still one of the best you’ll get in the market.
