The best iPad stands you can buy right now

Apple iPads are great tablets to own, no matter which flavor of the tablet you pick. While Android tablets have failed to dent the space, the iPad has become the go-to tablet to buy, offering a versatile experience for all types of users. It’s also the most popular tablet lineup out there, which is why it has a lot of accessories available. Among them are iPad stands, which can be very useful when you would rather not hold your device with your hands.
iPad stands can help you use the tablet in all situations, whether you’re watching a movie, typing, or trying to game with a wireless controller. They’re also more versatile than your regular kickstand iPad cases, only compromising portability. There are way too many iPad stands out there, so it can be hard to pick the right one. To help you choose yours, here is our list of the best iPad stands you can buy.

Note: This list of the best iPad stands will be updated as new products are launched and current ones retired.
Apple Magic Keyboard

While third-party iPad accessories are great, we know many of you prefer sticking with official products. Honestly, it’s tough to beat the Apple Magic Keyboard. For starters, it doesn’t only operate as a stand, but also as a case, keyboard, and charging dock for your iPad. The design is gorgeous, too, featuring a magnetic back that makes it seem like the iPad is floating. Build quality is also excellent.

The USB-C port can be used for passthrough charging, while the whole accessory keeps the screen at a comfortable angle, just like any other stand would. Most reviewers have praised the keyboard, and the unit even comes with a trackpad. The Apple Magic Keyboard isn’t only one of the best iPad stands, but is a complete productivity tool. The only real downside is that it’s costly, and it’s only available for iPad Pros and iPad Airs of later generations.
Apple Smart Keyboard Folio

If a Magic Keyboard is too much, maybe you’ll want to go for Apple’s next best keyboard stand. The keyboard isn’t as well built, and it has no trackpad or charging, but it works amazingly as one of the best iPad stands. Not to mention you’ll have something to type away with when mobile.
It’s also available for the latest iPad Pros and Airs, so there’s one available for most users. If you need one for the basic iPad or an older device, you can also look at the Apple Smart Keyboard (non-folio).
Nulaxy A5 Tablet Stand

We’ve seen plenty of stands like this one, but the Nulaxy A5 has a neat trick that makes it one of the best iPad stands. The dual hinges make it possible for the accessory to be folded to a much more portable form factor. It also makes it easier to angle your iPad in different ways, and you can even lay it down almost flat, leaving only a slight slant for easier typing and vertical viewing.
The device makes no compromises in terms of design and build quality. It’s made of metal, and we’ve been using it for well over a year. The hinges haven’t gotten loose or deteriorated. It’s also very affordable.
Twelve South Compass Pro

When it comes to the best iPad stands, Twelve South Compass Pro is a bit of a premium solution. It has a tripod-style design, with one leg acting as the kickstand while the other two serve as the hooks. The kickstand also has a second mini-leg for when you need a low recline angle for drawing or writing.
Twelve South has designed the Compass Pro to be a portable stand, and you even get a bundled sleeve. The metal build gets soft silicon for support. It promises support for tablets with widths between six and 12 inches.
Regarding the iPad, the support messaging from the brand is all over the place. The website says it supports all iPad and iPad Pro models, including Mini, while the Amazon listing explicitly mentions support excludes iPad Mini. We think it should fit all iPads, but if you have an iPad Mini, you might want to check other options before buying this one.
MoKo Foldable Multi-Angle Stand

MoKo’s offering is among the best iPad stands you can buy at an amazingly low price. The MoKo foldable multi-angle stand has a muted design and collapses into a low-profile, easy-to-carry stand. If you want to switch it up a bit, MoKo gives seven color options for this stand.
This stand has an ABS construction, with rubber pads. It has six levels of angle adjustments with the use of notches. It’s a rather small stand, supporting tablets between six to 11 inches. This means you can technically use it with almost every iPad, except the largest iPad Pro 12.9-inch models. That said, we wouldn’t recommend that you use it with the larger iPads. We tried it, and the experience wasn’t great. You should also avoid this option if you have one of the 11-inch iPad Pros.
Ugreen Tablet Stand

Doesn’t this iPad stand look nice? It looks fancy, but the price is accessible. You’ll get an aluminum construction with a heavy-duty base that should keep your expensive tablet safe. Additionally, the arm and holder can move around to find the best angle in any situation.
This is the perfect solution for both small and the largest iPads. It’s also one of the best-looking ones around.
Lamicall Gooseneck Tablet Holder

While most of the best iPad stands are sturdy and rigid, some use cases may require a little bit of flexibility. That’s where the Lamicall Gooseneck Tablet Holder comes in. Lamicall has made this stand mostly for stationary use, so there may be some wobble if you touch the tablet. The gooseneck is best for use in the kitchen or on your desk, where your tablet plays the role of a reference device.

We also liked that Lamicall paid more attention to aesthetics with this gooseneck holder. The metallic accents, white/gray accents, and overall design will fit the Apple looks perfectly.
Lamicall Adjustable Tablet Stand

Lamicall can also make affordable accessories, and this one is among the best iPad stands to get on a budget. The Lamicall Adjustable Tablet Stand only costs around $10, which is why you’ll get an ABS construction. That said, the stand is very flexible, offering a foldable design, adjustable angles, and even adjustable height.
Ontel Pillow Pad

Also included on our list of the best iPad stands is the Ontel Pillow Pad. While tabletop stands are great for specific use cases, there are a lot of times when a pillow stand can be of use. Apple iPads aren’t quite lap-friendly, but Flippy changes that entirely. You get three sides with different viewing angles and a comfortable feel.

Flippy is made out of lightweight foam with a suede cover that is easy to clean, and should work with all iPads. You also get a few color options, which are always fun.
Lamicall Tablet Floor Stand

Those who genuinely need to take their iPads anywhere will love the Lamicall Tablet Floor Stand. It’s one of the best tablet stands because it requires no surface, table, desk, or anything else. All you need is the floor, making this a super versatile option. A flexible gooseneck arm is attached to the 10.6lb base, making it stable and flexible.
It’s on the pricier side of the spectrum, but you should understand why. There’s a lot of material being used with this one.
Are you still not convinced with your iPad? Maybe consider looking into one of the best Android tablets instead? Additionally, you might want to look into getting a Chromebook, as most of those don’t need a stand.
