Australian customers can now purchase magazines on Google Play, app gets performance update
Australia was one of the first countries to get the Nexus 7 tablet. But the great price and superior hardware weren’t matched by the availability of more content from Google Play, such as magazines. Google is hoping to turn a new page with the latest update of its magazines app.
The new Google Play magazines now added Australia on its list of supported countries (aside from the U.S.), which means eager readers in down under can get their dose of magazine subscriptions, perhaps even as part of a free trial.
So the only thing missing for now is the availability of Google Music in Australia, since you already have Google Movies and Books.
Back to the new magazines app, version 1.10, which was released yesterday, also promises significant performance improvement. You should see faster page flipping and rendering. Of course, the previous update has also brought bug fixes and several performance enhancements, which should make for an even more solid reading experience on your Nexus 7 tablet – or any other Android devices.
Head to Google Play now to check out which magazines you can digitally pick up and subscribe to.
