The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active has landed exclusively at AT&T. The ruggedized update to their flagship Galaxy S5 brings shock-proofing, comes in Camo Green, Ruby Red or Titanium Gray colors and can be yours for just $199 on a two year contract.

The Galaxy S5 Active sports the same basic specifications as the original Galaxy S5, including the 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 16mp ISOCELL rear shooter and Snapdragon 801 processor. The S5 Active is touted as being “ready for whatever,” with its IP67 rating and ruggedized military specs that make it officially dustproof and shock and water resistant.

We took a good look at the specifications and some benchmarking for the Galaxy S5 Active last week in a leaked video. Check that out to get the particulars.

Samsung has added the Activity Zone. With a dedicated “convenience” key on the side of the device, the Galaxy S5 Active launches into an outdoor mode that displays a Barometer and compass with links to other active lifestyle apps that may be of use. We’ll have to see how users feel about gaining this feature in trade for the fingerprint scanner, which is not included.

Head in to your local AT&T store, or just hit up the AT&T website to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. It will set you back $715 with no contract, $199 on a 2 year contract and can go as low as $27.50/month on the AT&T Next program.

Galaxy S5 Active Gear Fit Bumper

As an added bonus, purchase and activate the Galaxy S5 Active before July 24th to get $50 off the Samsung Gear Fit. And if the device isn’t rugged enough for you, AT&T has a bumper case that can go with it, in black, red and hunter orange.

Have you been actively awaiting this device, or has the standard Galaxy S5 been enough for you?
