With all of this crazy Ice Cream Sandwich, Galaxy Nexus (Prime) madness afoot, it’s easy to forget about one of the most loved Android tablets out there – the Asus Transformer.

The Asus has rightly earned its place on the podium of best selling Android tablets for a few reasons. First, it came to market with a spectacular price, the quality of it is quite  good, and ASUS has been great about providing prompt updates.

Still – with all that being said – so many of you have held out for a 3G variant of the highly acclaimed ASUS Transformer.

As you will see in the pictures below, courtesy of the folks at TabletBite, there is indeed an Asus Transformer 3G coming to market – and very, very soon at that.

Too little too late? Probably not.

As TabletBite says:

I managed to get my hands on the 3G EEE Pad for just a couple of minutes and you can see where they decided to place the SIM Slot (on the left edge, bellow the volume rocker). Also got some teasing pictures from the guys at Asus and you can find the below.

Anyway, the slate will work with regular sized SIM cards and that small pin-hole next to it is used to pop-open the SIM cover with a pointed object. Besides the new SIM card slot, the tablet is pretty much identical to the regular Wi-Fi only Transformer.

The 3G variant of the Transformer will have about 5-7% less battery life

Expect to see the Transformer 3G arrive in stores and on Amazon sometime towards November 23-25. There is potential for it to be subsidized by carriers too, so stay tuned and we’ll let you know! Asus has very little experience in negotiating with carriers, so it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out. Expect to pay for a $100 premium for the 3G.

Still waiting for this one? Or holding out for something, more Quad-core-esque?
