It seems that Rovio isn’t content with just bringing its Angry Birds series to the Star Wars world. The company is now rolling out its next mashup game as it continues on its mission to destroy my childhood… err, I mean bring the Angry Birds goodness to new levels, this time with Angry Birds Transformers.

The game has now soft launched in New Zealand and Finland, and will reportedly be coming to Canada and Australia soon as well. The full global launch, however, won’t actually happen until October 15th. In the meantime, the above trailer gives us a good idea of what to expect. I have to admit, this one actually looks pretty damn good — well aside from the cheesy music and the WTF moment you experience when Optimus Prime comes out of ASTROtrain.

Of course, this is Rovio, and that means you can expect in-app purchases to be a big part of the experience. I’m not necessarily against this, as long as the game is still playable for those who don’t give in to paying for these in-app goodies. What do you think, excited for this one or not?
