Rovio releases first gameplay trailer for its new kart racing game, ‘Angry Birds Go’

Today Rovio released its first gameplay trailer for its new Mario Kart-like racer, 'Angry Birds Go'. The game is expected to arrive to Google Play on December 11th.

As soon as you read Angry Birds in the title, some of you were probably thinking “no, not another one!” The good news is that this time around, Rovio has something dramatically different in store for us.

The new Angry Birds Go! ditches the bird-flinging action in favor of a kart racing experience that seems somewhat reminiscent of popular karting series like Sonic Racing and Mario Kart.

As you’ll see in the video, there’s quite a few different bird/pig characters to choose from, as well as all sorts of exciting power-ups and even the ability to customize your kart. For those wondering, no word on multi-player just yet – though we wouldn’t be too surprised if Rovio offers some sort of way to race against your friends.

Just like in Angry Birds Star Wars II, Rovio’s new racing game will also work with Hasbro Telepod figurines, allowing you to instantly transport these special collectible characters into the game.

Angry Birds Go! will arrive to Google Play on December 11th, the same day as the iOS, Windows Phone and BB10 version. So how about it – anyone excited or not?
