geekphone_v3_r1_c2We’ve just caught wind of a new Android based device originating out of Spain. The company supposedly building the phone, GeekPhone,  does not even have a working website yet, and instead relies upon a blog that has remarkably little information. Clearly, it is incredibly early days for the company as a whole, and we are skeptical as to whether this device is truly serious at the moment. Indeed, forecasting a launch for Q4 of this year may be somewhat optimistic. After all, unforeseen circumstances and problems arise.

If things are true, the selling factor on the “ONE” from GeekPhone has to be the root-access out of the box to the Android Cupcake based device. Aside from this, the specification list is fairly low entry, although GPS and WiFi are planned. The Marvell 624 MHz processor will support this hardware, along with the GSM / EDGE / UMTS / HSDPA connectivity. Expect a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen and no slide out keyboard.

The GeekPhone blog has only been posting since March, and at a very slow rate. Any thoughts?
