Android ICS update for LG Optimus 2X now available in Europe

LG has officially released the Android ICS update for its Optimus 2X smartphone in Europe. The update, which was delayed for many months, is now available for download to European users.
December 7, 2012
The LG Otpimus 2X had the first "true" dual-core processor.

If you have been a very patient and loyal LG Optimus 2X owner then I have got great news for you! After months of delays and confusion about whether the update will be released or not, your device has finally received the Android ICS update and the update is now being rolled out in Europe.

The firmware version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich released for Optimus 2X is V3oa and it comes packed with the latest LG launcher for Android.

To download the update on your LG device simply open the LG update tool and press the update button. However if you have a LG Optimus 2X that is locked to a carrier then you will have to wait a bit longer to receive the update.

This new ICS update is for European users, as LG had already released a similar firmware for the South Korean version earlier this year. While Android ICS will please most users, those who are waiting for the Jelly Bean update should know that it is unlikely that their device will ever receive the latest version of Android. So, if you want the latest Android version you should upgrade to a newer device.
