A few weeks ago Samsung started to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) in Europe, specifically in Poland. Since the initial release Samsung has tweaked the firmware a couple of times to squash some last minute bugs. It now seems that the Korean electronics giant is happy for the firmware to start rolling out to more European countries.

According to a report on SamMobile, Android 5.0 is now available for Galaxy S5 users in Spain. It is very likely that this is just the first wave of a wider roll out which should see the Android 5.0 upgrade hit devices all across Europe.

The expanded roll out is in line with previous expectations, albeit a little late. Data gleaned from France’s second largest carrier, SFR, indicated that the S5 would get Android 5.0 during December. Since there are only a few days left in December then this seems unlikely, however a January roll out looks highly probable.

Once the roll out is underway, it is expected that Samsung will turn its attentions to the Galaxy Note 4.
