Android 2.2 on the myTouch3G range

According to TmoNews, the myTouch 3G range will enjoy the benefits of Android 2.2 in all its legitimate glory. No need for ports, this upgrade is straight from the cyber-houses of HTC themselves. The screenshot, courtesy from TmoNews, clearly states that T-Mobile are planning ‘to update existing myTouch 3G phones – not just our new Slide – to the latest software version, Android 2.2. It will mean that users of older devices can get the most up-to-date software.’

Unfortunately, there is no news on what kind of timescale T-Mobile are working to with these upgrades. In truth, this is probably a good thing for them as it means they should have a little more breathing space to do this at their own pace. T-Mobile’s statement finishes with, ‘ We hope this makes you as excited as it makes us – no phone’s left behind, that’s our pledge.’

We hope that this screenshot is legitimate. I spotted a couple of typing errors but that doesn’t really mean anything. Let’s hope!
