In total, Google launched two developer previews and eight betas for Android 13, with the eighth and final beta landing on July 13. These were early versions of the operating system. However, the stable version finally landed on August 15 at 1:00 PM ET.

Early on, Google supplied us with the Android 13 schedule you see above. It was a significantly shorter timeline than what we saw for Android 12 in 2021. Google kept tightly to the schedule with each milestone met. In fact, this is one of the fastest Android releases in the past few years.

For the sake of comparison, Android 12’s stable launch happened on October 19, 2021, a full 65 days later than 2022. However, the transition from Android 11 to Android 12 was significant. Considering the shift from Android 12 to Android 13 wasn’t nearly as drastic, it’s unsurprising that Google moved things along a lot faster this year.
