AllCast gets a new update, introduces several new features

AllCast has introduced a new update to Google Play bringing a new tablet UX, a slideshow mode for photos and a few other new tricks.
June 16, 2014

Back in late May AllCast brought us a new update that introduced streaming content from your phone over to any PC that ran the full version of the Chrome browser. While this was a pretty cool update, it pales in comparison to today’s relatively major update to version v1.1.1.6.

While you wouldn’t expect much from an x.x.x.x release, the new AllCast update includes a a new split view tablet UX that makes it possible to browse/control media playback on one screen when it landscape mode. Some other changes include a new UI for casting photos, and there’s even a new slideshow mode. Last but not least, Koush has now added a feature that automatically pauses your content if your phone rings.

The last line of the somewhat bizarre change-log for this update also reads as follows, “So, I just saw the GoT finale, Hodor for King, 2016.” This could be a hint at some kind of GoT easter egg or something, or it could merely be a way for Koush to liven up the change-long by doing something random.

To grab the latest update, you’ll want to head over to Google Play. As always, the basic version is free but unlimited video lengths and the removal of ads will set you back $4.99.
