Looking to buy a new phone? You don’t need to have the latest and greatest when some previous generation handsets are more than capable of handling the job while saving you some cash. And if we are going to talk about value, Motorola is definitely going to be mentioned.
2nd-generation Moto G with dock – $99.99
Oh, the Moto G. We won’t say it’s not a phone to write home about, because it actually is. And I don’t mean it in the “OMG look at those specs” kind of way. The Moto G series changed the way the general consumer looks at super affordable smartphones. The original Moto G was the first mainstream phone that was both affordable and offered a good experience. That’s the key word there: it was “good”, not just acceptable. The second generation follows the same pattern, and today you can get it for even cheaper.
B&H is currently selling the 2nd-gen Moto G (XT1063) for only $99.99. Now, in it of itself, that isn’t exactly the deal of the century, but the retailer is including a pretty neat freebie that will make this offer much more enticing. Customers will also get a free Belkin dock that is usually worth $24.99.
2nd-generation Moto X – $242.99
Want something a bit more powerful? The Moto X will do the trick. Yes, this is the previous generation Moto X, but this is still a great phone for under $250. Especially considering that it is currently going for $299.99 on Amazon. Packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch 1080p screen and a 2300 mAh battery, this phone can really hold its own. Of course, it’s not your top-of-the-line gadget, but it’s certainly hard to match that price point.
