The $11,999 Dacor 7-inch Android tablet also doubles as a 48-inch oven

In addition to “regular” smartphones and tablets that will parade at CES 2014, we’ll also see a variety of other Android products unveiled during the show, many of them related to smarter homes.

One such “device” is the Dacor Discovery iQ 48-inch Dual-Fuel Range oven that incorporates a full 7-inch Android tablet in it. The device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and can be used to both control the oven thanks to a built-in Discovery iQ app, but also enjoy other features – maybe media consumption? – while cooking complex meals.

Users that buy the smart oven will be able to control it with other mobile devices with the help of the Dacor remote control. Dacor will also have a 36-inch oven out, if the 48-inch model is too big, or… too expensive at $11,999. On the other hand, if you’re paying that much for an oven, you’re probably going to have a decent tablet for an Android tablet that’s not actually part of a smart cooking system.

Last year at CES, the company also unveiled a double wall oven that came with its own Android tablet.

While the Dacor oven is certainly interesting, we’re going to see more home-related Android usage at CES this year, as both LG and Samsung are interested in connecting appliances with smartphones and tablets for a smarter home.
