It’s been less than a week since the first Tegra 4-based handset in the world got leaked online, but now it has shown itself yet again. This time, it’s the subject of several glamour shots posted by none other than ZTE itself.
Named the ZTE Geek U988S, this phone will apparently be sold in fiery red with a few major spec changes over the model it is based on — the ZTE Geek. The ZTE Geek was notable for its use of an Intel chip when it was first announced a few months back. However, the ZTE Geek U988S will ship with NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 SoC instead.
Based on previous online reports, the Geek U988S will also have other noteworthy features, such as a Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) 5-inch LCD screen, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, and a CPU clock speed of 1.8GHz.
Despite all the very attractive features, though, there’s very little chance of this being sold outside of China. That’s because this model will only work with China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network, and it will in fact be a China Mobile exclusive. A global version just might be in the cards, but it hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
