ZiiLABS shows Android with HD Video Playback

image_43At the MWC in Barcelona, ZiiLABS recently demonstrated its Android Platform with HD video playback on the ZMS-05 “media-rich processor”.

Attached after the jump is a Youtube video that highlights how the ZMS-05 handles the Android User interface. The video also has a spot of web browsing action too, and some shots of the HD Media Player for Android. Couple this with HD Video to LCD Display (H.264 MP) and HD Video to HDMI Display (H.264 MP) and we really do think ZiiLABS are on to a winner. Take a look at the video yourself for the whole visual experience.

“Android provides an excellent platform for enabling next-generation OEM devices based on our ZMS processors and platforms,” said Tim Lewis, director of marketing, ZiiLABS. “Last month at the Consumer Electronics Show we launched the ZMS-05 based upon our StemCell Computing architecture. We are now expanding support beyond our existing SDK to anyone who wishes to leverage the Android platform.”

ZiiLABS expects to release its Android platform to OEM partners during the summer of 2009.
