More signs of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact spotted online

by: Robert TriggsAugust 28, 2014

Did someone ask for some more Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact leaks? As late yesterday the name cropped up on the official Sony website’s product page, a screenshot of which can be seen above.

Listed under the Xperia Z2 Tablet’s display features page, eagle eyed viewers managed to spot a reference to the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. You have to wonder why Sony was updating the Z2 Tablet page at this time, perhaps this was not just an innocent typo. Either way, the error has since been corrected, but, as this comes from Sony itself, the typo seems like pretty good confirmation that the device is heading our way.

But if a website mistake is not enough proof of the tablet’s existence for you, take a look at Sony’s latest teaser video.

If you are quick enough, you will be able to spot a flash image of three Sony devices at around the 40 second mark, a screenshot of which can be found below.

You can make out three anonymous devices outlined: two smartphones and a tablet. A sensible assumption would be that these devices are the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact, and the 8-inch Z3 Tablet Compact. If you missed it, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact was also spotted in a Sony user guide early last week.

We are anticipating that Sony will launch all of the devices as its press conference at IFA in Berlin, which begins next week. Are you excited for Sony’s new smartphone and tablet offerings?

Arrgh the decisions. Nexus 8/9, Samsung’s 8 incher with AMOLED or this? I love stock Android, but it really lacks some features I’d like to have on a tablet (though custom ROMs are always an easy option and I’d have Android L (!!)). Sony’s UI is nice, it has some interesting multitasking implementations. Also the tablet is sexy and waterproof! Samsung has great display and multiwindow. Arrgh

judging by your comment, modding is not a problem for you, so here goes :
      – android L > Custom ROM available
      – Sony UI > Custom Launcher
      – multiwindow > not sure, but i think there’s an app for that
      – great display > subjective opinion, I dont think it will differs to much
      – waterproof > SONY THE ONE AND ONLY !!!!!!
