Here's some more hype for those looking forward to the new flagship Sony Xperia Z. In a new video, launched today on its official Youtube channel, Sony showed off the features of the Xperia Z's impressive 13 megapixel camera.

As well as packing an impressive 13 megapixels into a smartphone snapper, the handset's camera features an Exmor RS image sensor, which supposedly improves the overall quality of your pictures above and beyond the increased pixel density. It also enables HDR photographs and video capture, which should help enhance the quality of all your snaps regardless of the lighting conditions.

Whilst there's obviously no way to verify whether any of the great looking pictures shown off in the video were actually taken with an Xperia Z, hopefully this new camera will perform a little better than the rather underwhelming 13 megapixel camera Sony put in its Xperia TX. But there's no real reason to doubt Sony this time, as everything we've seen so far from the Xperia Z looks very promising.

Even though the handset is less than a month away from release, those who just can't wait for the Xperia Z can check out a hold host of videos over on the official Sony Xperia Youtube channel.
