Xperia Z

The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia Z is apparently rolling out officially, mostly in European markets.

Xperia Blog says that Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update (firmware version 10.3.A.0.423) is available in Spain and Ukraine for model number C6603 (LTE version) and in Taiwan for model number C6602 (HSPA+ version).

Similarly, “carrier customized versions” are available in Austria, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. We’re most likely looking at a gradual update roll out, so if you haven’t received yours yet, keep checking until you get it.

For some reason, Sony has not posted details for the update in the software section of its website, with the company listing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (firmware 10.1.1.A.1.253) as the latest available software.

The Android 4.2.2 update has been unofficially available for almost two weeks now, and we have already seen a few videos showing the leaked ROM running on the Xperia Z.

Did you get your Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update yet?

And people are still raving about HTC One. What a bunch of slowmos working on 4.2.2.

    • Amine Elouakil

HTC Pulled off the update from carriers a couple of weeks ago after find out an issue I believe

  • Lil bit

4.2.2 for note 2 is far away, and 4.1 for Galaxy Tab 2 was said to start rolling out in December 2012 but still didn’t get it. In addition HTC tried to fake news about 4.2.2 for One to counter for falling sales, and they recently reassess a budget phone running ICS hidden under the new Sense, and wet know HTC never update litre end and lower midrange phones, AND STILL most people blame Sony for being show with updates.

Worth mentioning that this is not the first update for Xperia Z, the last update was substantial and well tested with virtually no bugs. Very good Sony, greatness.

HTC did NOT fake news for 4.2.2 as there is a fully working that has been leaked for months now, HTC pulled out the update from carriers a couple of weeks ago due to some issues, and now official update roadmap came out from carriers (french SFR carrier for example says 4.2.2 is coming for the One, One X,XL X+ S in July. and Yes Sony is much slower than other, check out when did the One X or S3 get Jellybean and the Xperia S or the flagship before that.

The S4 and One were updated before the Z was.

Well, obviously it is not fulling working therefore htc had to pull it… If it was fully working, they would just leave it out there and give the people another update to fix bugs. -_-‘

Pulling an update = no update. So yeah, Sony beat HTC to updating their flagships

        • Amine Elouakil

Fully working =! having a security issue or a patent issue for example (which also answer your second part of the comment in those case they cannot release the update, the leaked version been used by people and it doesn’t have any apparent issues.

Yes you are right and nI don’t see your point because I didn’t say the opposite but my comment stands right as an answer to the false claims mentioned before.

S4 and One were shipped with 4.2, so no shipped != update ;)

        • weed

One was not shipped with 4.2. Only the GPE One is. 1đi0ť.

Please take a pill. Xperia V got jelly bean long before HOX. And so did T and TX. And the fact is still that Htc does not upgrade mid range much and not at all on low end. They released a budget model in June 2013 running ICS, they just hide it under Sense 4 to make it less obvious, that’s just horrible.

        • Amine Elouakil

and what was the release date of the Xperia V? hint : it’s not mars 2012 or august 2012

got an update this morning, unfortunately not to 4.2.2 but to 4.2.1 which I had already (in Belgium) Hopefully coming soon! (

  • porter86

Well the S4 might win on specs ( but the Xperia Z is much nicer, especially with the update!
