Although we had previously heard murmurs about the possibility of an Xperia tablet Z successor, up until today, few details were known about the device. Earlier today, we not only learned many of the key specs for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2, but also its weight and dimensions. Now several pictures of the device have turned up as well, thanks to @evleaks and @gadgetleaks.
Although @gadgetleaks is a fairly new account, the fact that @evleaks is providing a similar image certainly lends a little more credibility to the images seen below.
The upcoming tablet is reportedly powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU with 3GB of RAM. Other specs include a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 Triluminos display, 16GB storage, microSD, 8MP rear cam, 2MP front cam, a 6000 mAh battery, a waterproof design and Android 4.4 KitKat.
So when will Sony officially take the wraps off the device? Considering the wealth of leaks that have surfaced all of a sudden, it’s looking more likely that the next-gen tablet could be unveiled alongside the Xperia Z2 (aka Sirius) next week at MWC, as previously claimed by @evleaks. Still, we haven’t heard much about the tablet until today, so it’s possible that the tablet Z2 won’t actually be unveiled until a bit further down the road, so don’t get too excited just yet.
What do you think of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 based on what we know so far, interested or not?
