Although we had previously heard murmurs about the possibility of an Xperia tablet Z successor, up until today, few details were known about the device. Earlier today, we not only learned many of the key specs for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2, but also its weight and dimensionsNow several pictures of the device have turned up as well, thanks to @evleaks and @gadgetleaks

Although @gadgetleaks is a fairly new account, the fact that @evleaks is providing a similar image certainly lends a little more credibility to the images seen below.

The upcoming tablet is reportedly powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU with 3GB of RAM. Other specs include a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 Triluminos display, 16GB storage, microSD, 8MP rear cam, 2MP front cam, a 6000 mAh battery, a waterproof design and Android 4.4 KitKat.

So when will Sony officially take the wraps off the device? Considering the wealth of leaks that have surfaced all of a sudden, it’s looking more likely that the next-gen tablet could be unveiled alongside the Xperia Z2 (aka Sirius) next week at MWC, as previously claimed by @evleaks. Still, we haven’t heard much about the tablet until today, so it’s possible that the tablet Z2 won’t actually be unveiled until a bit further down the road, so don’t get too excited just yet.

What do you think of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 based on what we know so far, interested or not?

Will Android tablets ever have smaller bezels?
The only tablet doing a good job is the Nexus 7 and maybe the LG G Pad.
I really hope these 10-inch Android tablets get smaller bezels all around.

My Galaxy Tab 3 10.1″ has small bezels….any smaller and it will become problematic to hold the tablet!

      • AndroidBoss

Yeah the bezels are alright for that one, but seriously for this Sony tablet and the recent Asus Transformer tablet, the bezels are way too big.

        • MasterMuffin

Maybe the bezel is for front speakers!

          • AndroidBoss

Front speakers can be smaller these days.

          • MasterMuffin

            but bigger is better

          • AndroidBoss

With new technology, they can include speakers like the ones on the Nexus 7 or HTC One on the front and they will be as durable. Sometimes with those big ones there are some sound problems, I’ve had that with the Galaxy Note but I returned it.

          • MasterMuffin

            still, bigger is better :)

          • Brendon Brown

Yep, bigger means louder, louder is … louder ?

          • MasterMuffin

            and also louder!

        Dafuq?

    • Brendon Brown

Bezels make it easier to use tablets though

      • AndroidBoss

Well done times, but that doesn’t mean keep those big ass bezels and the same exact design.

        • Brendon Brown

You have a good point, was just saying that you will need some bezel on a tablet

          • AndroidBoss

            Yeah correct.

    • JonDuke19

Maybe the G Pad? Did you see the top and bottom bezels on the Nexus 7? They are hideous. The G Pad is the most beautiful beast on the market today. And the Bezels are smaller than on the Nexus 7.

  • Jaun Lombard

I just love what Sony did with the design…o wait…they changed nothing! Looking forward to the redesigned Sony Z2 phone…o wait…it will look the same as the Z1 and Z!

    • You are an idiot

S4 S3 Galaxy tabs and all, you are a Samsung fanboy on all of your fucking comments!

      • Brendon Brown

If you’re going to say things like that then say it politely ..
