LG G Watch unboxing initial setup (4 of 13)

Earlier today we learned about a new app that brings Wikipedia to our wrists, and now it seems that WhatsApp is making a similar transition. Unlike Attopedia, WhatsApp’s Android Wear functionality comes directly from its maker through an update to version 2.11.318 of the app.

While the WhatsApp team don’t seem to directly refer to this as a beta,WhatsApp is limiting this release for the time being. Basically, the only way to get this latest version is through their website, as opposed to sources like Google Play. As for the new features introduced? You’ll not only received stacked notifications from Whatsapp and a preview of your messages, you’ll also be able to respond either through voice or by selecting from simple ready-made responses like yes, no, lol and see you soon.

As for how well it all works, this build reportedly has a few glitches and quirks, but is certainly a step in the right direction. It is unclear how long before the app is pushed out to Google Play, though hopefully sooner rather than latter. Android Wear owners, have you tried this one out yet? If so, what do you think of the experience so far?
