Believe it or not but the first conference of 2012 is less than a week away. The 2012 International CES in Las Vegas will start up on January 10th, and of course Android Authority will be there to get the inside scoop on everything Android, be sure to say hello to us. So what are we expecting at CES, other then the obvious new Android phones and Tablets?
New Android Phones
With the announcement of Ice Cream Sandwich being almost 3 months ago, I would expect quite a few ICS based phones from all the major Android phone manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, Motorola and Sony Ericcson. I am also expecting some quad-core processor goodness this year. Most of our Android phones are already dual-core so where is our quad-core Galaxy Nexus, HTC Sensation or Samsung Galaxy S2? Hopefully we will see them at CES next week.
More Android Tablets
Of course we will see more Android Tablets, I mean it’s CES why wouldn’t there be a ton of them? We already have our first quad-core tablet, the ASUS Transformer Prime, so I am expecting almost every tablet – except the budget ones – to have a quad-core processor. Perhaps an Intel Core i7 quad-core based tablet? Sounds fast doesn’t it? Also expect plenty more 4G tablets for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. But is Amazon going to tease with another Tablet? I don’t really think so, I still think it’s to early for them to announce a refresh of the Kindle Fire, it might upset their consumers.
Of course there will be other phones with other OS’s – we won’t call anyone out – but Android is the best, and as an Android blog that’s what we will be covering. We’ll also see some Ultrabooks that will probably be running Chrome OS, which is also a Google product.
The best Android website with the best team will be bringing every bit of CES goodness straight to Android Authority, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled to the site and see what happens next week.
