Mike Cleron over at the Android Developers Blog has created and posted a new sample app with source code for Android developers. The app, called WebViewDemo, demonstrates how to add javascript and other web content to an application.
Using the techniques shown in WebViewDemo, developers can access all sorts of content from both the web or even an Android smartphone’s local file system. For example, it could be used to display the latest photos from your 6 favorite web cams, or link in online weather information to an existing application.
The source to WebViewDemo can be checked out from the Apps-for-Android project website.
