When it comes to mobile newsreaders, there are few options better than Pulse. Up until now only Android and iOS users had the privilege of using Pulse but the new web-based version changes all that for the better.

Now Windows Phone, Blackberry, and basically any platform with a web-connection can get their hands on the web app. For those mobile and desktop users that decide to utilize the web-version, you'll find all the great features you'd expect from Pulse, in addition to a few new features as well.

The web-app has a nice layout designed to work with all the latest web-technologies out there and is clearly being focused on Windows 8, where hardware acceleration features exist exclusively through Internet Explorer 10.

For those without Windows 8, there is still plenty to love about the new version. Existing users will be happy to know that all their settings are synced and ready to go with the web-app, all they need to do is log in with a supported browser. For new users, sign up is easy and completely free.

It pretty much sucks now. A confusing mess. Simplicity was the key to its appeal, same as flipboard. In trying to do more, they have moved away from the core aspect that made the app easy to use. Its sure to alienate many users. Their Windows app is even worse. I have moved on to Diurna on my Windows tablet. Much cleaner and faster.
