About two weeks ago I wrote a review about the first fully functional, but slow, ICS ROM for the HTC Sensation. It works on the original Sensation, Sensation 4G and Sensation XE. Since it was built on a leaked RUU that HTC was working on internally, almost every other Sense ROM has now updated to Android 4.0 with Sense 3.5. So if your a big flasher, when it comes to ROMs, you may want to check some of these out.

Sense Based ROM’s:

Stripped Sense (meaning it’s basically AOSP with a little bit of sense, but not noticeable)

AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROM’s

I haven’t tried out all of these ROM’s but I’ve tried the most of them. And I have found that the completely AOSP one is the fastest and smoothest of them all, but the camera and bluetooth are not yet working unfortunately. So if you need a fully working ROM but want to check out the beauty and awesomeness of Ice Cream Sandwich I would suggest sticking to one of the Sense based ROM’s.

If you want a nice how to guide on how to get Ice Cream Sandwich on your HTC Sensation, then check out out our guide. Remember though, you first have to have your HTC Sensation rooted.

Let us know which ROM your Sensation is rocking, I love trying out and testing new ROM’s.

they should put android 4.0 on the sensation xe and the xl, because many websites say that htc company should let these two phones update to android 4.0….. they also say that its worth it with a fast processor and a beautiful style…

Just updated my sensation (uk, three network, not rooted) via the ota update which showed up last night.

    Font and general appearance nice.

    But definite performance problems.

    Everything seems to lag.

It’s been 10 hours since the upgrade so I’d have hoped everything should have “caught up” and settled down by now.

    Disappointed.

Anyone else having performance problems with sensation and ICS?

    Glen
