Android Market updates

Over at the Android developers blog, there is a recent video that shows the new Android Market in Android 1.6 aka Donut. The video is a real video, fingers and all, with a blacked out background to make for easy viewing. It is only short and sweet, so here is an extract of what Eric Chu had to say for himself on the blog;

“…we will soon introduce new features… developers will be able to provide screenshots, promotional icons and descriptions that will better show off applications and games.” Chu goes on to explain that “We have also added four new sub-categories for applications: sports, health, themes, and comics. Developers can now choose these sub-categories for both new and existing applications via the publisher website.”

If you are a developer interested in what the new Android Market can offer you, head on over to the Android Market publisher website and follow the instructions.
