Most high-end smartphones nowadays feature 5MP to 12MP shooters with flash capability and the ability to shoot HD videos, making the point-and-shoot digital cameras almost redundant.

The improvements in phone camera technology saw the rise of numerous camera and picture apps which allow users to further enhance their images with special effects, filters, and frames. The popularity of Instagram is a testament to the growing demand for such picture apps.

We will be taking a look at another such picture app, the HeyCheck for Facebook app. The application allows you to enhance images using a wide variety of effects, filters, color enhancements, and frames to “beautify” your pictures, and as the name suggests, allows you to share these images on Facebook very easily.

Some of the key features of the app include:

  • The main screen features 4 tiles including Camera, Gallery, Instagram, and Facebook. The “Camera” option allows you to take a new picture, or you can open a saved image from the “Gallery” option, or further, an image from your Instagram gallery as well. This is all part of the “Capture” menu option.
  • Menu options also include “My Feed” which allows you to look at photos shared by your Facebook friends using this app, and “My Profile” that shows up how many images have been uploaded by you, how many users you are following, and how many are following you.
  • You can either take a picture or use one from the gallery. Once selected, you can set a title, edit the image, choose a border, and also remove red-eye. Image editing options include over 20 color effects to brighten up the photo, 20 filters, and 20 frames.
  • Clicking ”Done” uploads the photo to Facebook automatically. You can then choose from a series of emoticons to “set the mood” and also comment on the image.

As you can see, the app is very easy to use thanks to the simple interface, and boasts multiple image enhancement options. As mentioned by our colleague Clayton, if you are looking for a photo aggregator that puts all your photo sources into one and allows you to upload these images to Facebook easily, this is definitely the app for you.

You can download the HeyCheck for Facebook app for free from the Google Play Store here.
