Qualcomm’s 7X30

Qualcomm are most well known for their higher end processor chip(s). Their 1Ghz Snapdragon chip is something the discerning consumer will look for in any high-end Android device. What we have here is a demo from MWC which highlights the true power of what this chip on steroids can do when run on the Android operating system. It is effectively equipped with the same CPU as what we’ve grown to love, but it also comes with the ability to play back 720p video on the device itself, but also on any HDTV due to the HDMI-out support that this chip offers.

In the videos after the jump we have examples of 3D acceleration with some stunning games, along with a picture browser capable of handling somewhere in the region of 1,000 images at the same time without any noticeable slow-down.

It will not be too long before the majority of Android phones will be running a chip of Snapdragon-equivilent power as the core of the device. Perhaps even by this time next year it will be the norm in middle to higher-end devices. To see what the future holds, click on to see.
