One of the main selling points of Asus’ 7-inch Fonepad tablet is its 3G telephony capability. You can use the device as a regular phone, and, as my colleague Joshua Vergara found in his review, talking on the 7-inch tablet is not actually as awkward as it first seems.
However, using the Fonepad with one hand and especially holding it up to the ear for voice calls can be a little tiring, except maybe, if you’re a gorilla with large paws. We guess that was the initial idea behind Asus’ new promo campaign for the Fonepad?
Anyway, the end product is quite funny. Check it out.
Okay, if Gary’s performance convinced you that you need the Fonepad, you should know that the device is powered by an Intel Atom Z2420 processor and 1GB of RAM, and features a rather uninspiring 1280 x 800 display. When it eventually becomes available in the States, the device should go for $249.
