From time to time, Verizon employees are offered a special deal, whether it’s cool insider information on future phones or early releases ahead of the public market. Either way, they are usually informed what is going on in Verizon territory. Well the folks that work at Big Red now have the chance to obtain a phone which will not be available to the public at all. Specifically, Verizon employees are able to purchase a “Limited Edition” red DROID RAZR MAXX.
The DROID RAZR MAXX is definitely a phone to remember, one that stands out of the crowd of juice-thirsty 4G LTE phones. I mean, no other phone in its generation comes even close to the RAZR MAXX’ amazing 21.5 hours of talk time. And all that power is delivered without sacrificing the phone’s slim figure.
Back to the Verizon-only MAXX, the phone sports a black and red color scheme, with red accents on the kevlar back and the power button on the side. Not very different from the “original” MAXX, but, after all, it does say “Limited Edition” on the back. So how could you go wrong?
Droid Life reports that the exclusive devices have began arriving to the employees who ordered them ($199 and $99 for the 32GB or 16GB). What is unfortunate is that the general public can not grab these babies, as they are employee exclusive. However, don’t fret about it, because there have already been cases of employee’s offering their black and red phones on EBay or Craigslist, even before he or she received the device. I am sure that the red edition will be seen on eBay soon. Just don’t expect it to sell at a regular price.
So what do you think about this red RAZR MAXX? Will you try to snatch one off on eBay? Do you think it should have been available to the public? I would love to hear your comments.

Meh, probably gonna pick up the SGS3, though the Razr HD is looking pretty sweet as well (if it weren’t for the locked bootloader, I’d be all over it)
I’m married to a Verizon chic so my line is on an employee account. My Limited Edition arrives tomorrow. I was also told that the ESN’s were going to be locked to the employee accounts for activation so if you buy one off Ebay/Craigslist/etc. and don’t have an employee account you will be unable to activate it. No workaround for that one.
Thats stupid what if u decided to give the phone to someone else or no longer works for Verizon.
