Vega by ICD

Android may be coming to a kitchen near you, in the form of Vega by ICD. ICD are an engineering company based in Seattle and the UK (my favorite places)! The Vega is alleged to be a fairly low cost device with an extra large screen that combines some of the best features of the Smartphone with a PC. We have a PDF available here which is pretty comprehensive, although the full specification listing along with price and availability will become available at CES next year, what we’ve managed to pick up so far is exciting.

Aside from running Android 2.0, this little device will sport a 15.6’’ touchscreen with an NVIDIA Tegra graphics power. There is a 1.3 MP webcam to allow for some Skype action too. In terms of connectivity, this device isn’t lacking either. It is proud to offer Micro SD expansion, Bluetooth 2.1, Wireless 802.11 b/g, USB 2.0 as well as cellular and 2G/3G data connectivity. Chuck in a 3.5mm audio jack and some magnetic docking features for good measure and we’re not really sure what else we would add to this product ourselves, aside from an ambient light sensor. Oh, it has one of those too, as well as an acceleromter, for some reason. Perfect for ordering the shopping online and keeping up with the kids on VOIP? We think so.
