There are a lot of voice assistant apps out there, but not all of them do it right. Then, you have apps like Utter! that takes things to a whole new level.
Utter! just got a massive update, and it brings some awesome Moto X-like Google Now functionality to the app.
Utter! has had an always-listening option for some time now. However, the command only woke the app up for you to take a second step and give it a command. The phrase for that is “wake up”, but now you can say “wake up” to initiate an Utter! command. Alternatively, you could say “Okay, Google” to bring Google Now to the forefront to use search and voice commands. That’s not all that came with this update, though.
There’s now integration with for playing music through Spotify or All Access (Play Music). However, I tried testing this feature out for a good 15 minutes and I wasn’t able to get Utter! to play anything. It was never able to find the track for some reason or another. So, it may work for you or it might not.
Furthermore, Utter! has added support for searching popular services and social networks like Amazon, eBay, Yelp, Twitter, and Foursquare. There’s also a few added commands for accepting or rejecting calls, defining words, and etc.
This update is massive. There’s just way too much to go over, so you can check out the changelog for yourself below:
Anyone enjoying the new Utter! update yet? If you haven’t gotten it yet, just get it from the Play Store.
