Unofficial sales breakdown

Unofficial sales breakdown

We all know that Android is still nowhere near as popular as the iPhone. We all know that the Android Market pales in comparison to the Apple App Store. We all know that one day this will change. Right now, the Android market has just surpassed 10,000 applications.

The news comes from Androidlib, Android Market equivalent, who estimate that the number of applications available to users of the Android operating system has just exceeded 10k. As anyone with half a brain can work out, 10,000 is twice as much as 5,000, which was the number of applications available back in May. In short, the Android Market has doubled in size in a few months.

Ok, so it should be noted that these figures are by no means official. Like we said, they are not from Google themselves. Nonetheless, we feel that they are genuinely bringing a good estimate of what is actually going on in the Android Market, even if sales are not as high as people first thought.
