Users of the One (M8) in the United States are reporting the arrival of the Android 4.4.3 update on their devices.
A few days ago, Mo Versi, a senior executive with HTC said that the unlocked M8 would get the bump to Android 4.4.3 by the end of this week, and now it looks that HTC has kicked off the roll out.
The HTC One (M8) launched with Android 4.4.2 and Sense 6 out of the box. This latest update mostly consists of security updates, bug fixes, and other under-the-hood changes. But why hasn’t HTC gone for Android 4.4.4 instead?
As Versi explained on Twitter, the update rolling out today actually incorporates the security patches released in Android 4.4.4, even if the version number is still 4.4.3. Confused? We are too, to be honest. Next stop is Android L, which HTC promised to roll out within 90 days from its full release, sometime this fall.
Update: Developer Edition too:
