According to Peter Chou, Chief Executive of HTC, China is soon to experience Android; big news for Google’s operating system. Allegedly, China Mobile will offer a customised version of the HTC Magic, called the OPhone….
DigiTimes, famous for its highly reliable and trusted leaks *cough*, is once again quoting Chinese-language Commercial Times as a source for a possible new Android handset. Apparently, China Unicom, one of China’s mobile network operators, is expected to push out an Android based smartphone sometime in the next month or so. It is affectionately dubbed the Uphone.
This may not be complete codswallop as we’ve already reported on two Ophones, one from HTC and another from Lenovo, which are alleged to ship in China sometime this year. However, as with anything originating out of DigiTimes, add a healthy doss of skepticism.
