Jack Palevich at the Android Developers Blog has added three new sample application sources to the Apps-for-Android project. Triangle and SpriteText show how to make use of basic OpenGL graphics calls, while Downloader shows how to download additional data to an Android smartphone from inside an application.

If you are just an end user kinda person, this stuff won’t interest you at all. But if you are looking, perhaps, to dabble in the black arts and try your hand and building your own application, examples like these are a good place to start.
