With the Xiaomi Mi2 debuting in China last week, it’s time to engross ourselves in the expected barrage of marketing efforts that the company will no doubt undertake until its eventual October release.  Then again, between the huge popularity of the first model and the mouthwatering specs the Mi2, the phone should have no problem selling on its own.

Still, the official promotional video that Xiaomi has uploaded for the quad-core Mi2 is an eye opener for the uninitiated. Likewise, it’ll introduce to the world one of the phone’s greatest strengths – version 4 of MIUI ROM, which is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Go ahead and watch the clip and tell us that you’re not in the slightest interested …with a straight face. It’s worth to mention again that the Xiaomi Mi2 boasts Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor clocked at 1.5Ghz alongside the Adreno 320 GPU. Add the 4.3-inch HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, and 2MP front-facing camera – one wonders how Xiaomi is able to offer this beast for about $310.

Tell us what you think of the Xiaomi Mi2 below. Will this phone go straight to the wish list?

After HTC decided not to release ICS for my DHD I was going to make my next phone a Nexus phone… However this does peak my interest! Great looking phone, great specs and a decent ROM.

  • MIUI ROM is also available for the Galaxy S3. :-)

  • If i havent gotten this SGSIII i wouldve taken this little bundle of joy in. Asians have smaller hands and 4.3″ aint to shabby.

    • EddieT

okay that’s a stereotype that doesn’t need to be said. Need I remind you that Asians built that 4.8″ SGS III you are so fond of and it sells very well in Asia where Asians buy them.

the bigger question is the battery life…

  • tBs_Battousai

Would like a slightly larger screen, something like 4.5.6 but other than that, WOW, looks fantastic…
