The epic countdown to the official launch of the Galaxy Nexus (Prime) and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is on folks, and the glory gates from leak-heaven keep opening further, dropping us delicious Nexus Ice Cream Sandwich flavored treats in abundance.

In but a few short hours, Google and Samsung will unveil two epic things: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and arguably the most hotly anticipated Android device of 2011 – the Galaxy Nexus (Prime). The leaked image above looks very much to be the Galaxy Nexus, and it appears to be taken from a magazine, further lending itself credibility.

To make matters even more enticing, it looks like a near perfect match of the video leak of the Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich that came out last week.

While it does appear to be a touch different from the teaser image Samsung threw at us last week, it just simply doesn’t matter. As far as we know, and we’ve done more research on this than the sum of 10 kids going to college for 4 years each, these are the specs:

  • 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4460 dual-core processor
  • 1 GB of RAM, 16 and 32 GB of storage
  • 4.65″ 1280×720 Super HD AMOLED  display
  • PowerVR SGX 540 Image Technologies GPU
  • 2G/3G/4G LTE Connectivity
  • 5-megapixel (rear) camera with 1080p video recording and an improved low light image sensor
  • and the usual suspects: Bluetooth/WiFi/NFC.

Is this the best phone of the year? I think it very well might be – do you? Stay tuned to Android Authority – we’re going to be covering the event like crazy! Also, we’ve just received word that carriers around the world are prepping for late October/early November release dates- more on that right after this!

    5mp camera is a failure……….

Why when it can record 1080p?

      • Therealrom

Exactly! Megapixels aint about image quality you can have a tmp camera thay shoots better pictures tha10mp camera. Its only if you want to print and enlarge them.

        • Therealrom

And by that I meant 5 lol

      • Level380

        Well I don’t record video, so 1080 isn’t that exciting…… yes a 5 MP camera can record 1080 video.

I take stills and my 12 month old HTC phone has a 8MP camera on it, why would I go backwards!?

  • carl

    only the camera

    • yes the sensor is 5mp but looks like a killer chipset image processing behind it and the nearly 0ms shutter is something i’ll give up 3mp for

  • What do we think the three little dots on the right hand edge of it are? They looked metallic and raised on the cleaned up still from the teaser vid.

WTF O.o the 4.65″ screen looks ridiculous with this HUGE empty space around it… What’s the point ? Copying Apple ?

  • Simon Jackson

Hope the GPU is wrong. Be nice to have something iPhone 4S equivalent or better in the flagship android device. I have an atrix and was planning on upgrading to this, but wont unless it has a better gpu. Don’t want to take a step sideways/backwards from tegra2!
