Minority Media, the developers of the ambitious adventure game Papo & Yo, have released a new VR title on Android.

The Other Room is a puzzle game in the vein of “escape the room” type titles, where players must examine and manipulate objects to help them solve problems. It boasts procedurally generated puzzles and an antagonist who speaks to you and psychologically evaluates you — presumably based on your success in completing the game’s challenges. Timed levels will also put some extra pressure on the player as they try to progress.

Other than that, we don’t have much else to go on so far. At a glance, it seems quite different to Papo & Yo, which explored themes of child abuse through its fantasy setting. The Other Room may not be concerned with similarly powerful themes, though we don’t yet know what’s behind the game’s “lifelike antagonist”.

The Other Room is available exclusively for Daydream VR devices now for $4.99, without in-app purchases. Find it at the Google Play Store via the button below.
