Imangi Studios shares three top tips on how to master Temple Run 2

by: Bams SadewoJanuary 25, 2013

Hey there, Temple Run 2 fans. We know you’re kind of busy running away from an evil monkey, collecting golds, riding mine cart, and all that – but you may want to press pause for a little while to take note of the great tips that Imangi Studio has shared below.

The three tips that will help you excel in the game are as follows:

  • Multiply and Conquer: The easiest way to get a larger score (so you can brag to everyone you know) is to utilize your score multiplier. To do this, you need to complete different objectives. Each objective ups your multiplier by one, so focus on those objectives first to get your score really high.
  • Coins, Coins, Coins: Coins are the currency in Temple Run and they are used to upgrade the characters and gameplay. The fastest way to start earning coins is to upgrade the “Coin Values” under abilities. Doing this will make the double and triple coins appear on the track. Also, everyone’s favorite powerup is the magnet- it helps you get every coin near you as you run.
  • Going the Distance: Clearly, you want to run as far as you can. To do that, it sometimes means you must sacrifice extra coins for bonus items. The shield power will help with obstacles, but remember, it won’t protect you from falling. The Boost, at the beginning of the game, can also help you move forwards faster.

We hope you’re taking notes of the above. If you have some tips of your own to share, please leave them in the comments below.

So wait, Imangi recommend that we collect coins AND try to run as far as possible, along with completing objectives? Well that’s something I didn’t know…

I’m frustrated that T.R.2 does not let me accumulate coins. It will say I have 2,000 coins for upgrades, then I play another game and it increases, but by the 3rd game or so, my coins decrease to like 900. The 1st T.R. Would accumulate coins till I purchase an upgrade. With this new one I can never accumulate more than around 2600 then it automatically drops by around 1500. I play like crazy and I can never keep enough coins to buy another character. I’m playing on an iPad, my child plays it on her nabi and she doesn’t have this problem with coins disappearing simply by playing. She was able to get another character. Also, mine will say I have 15 gems and when I used only two “save me”s with it, my gems dropped down to one. Is this a glitch? Very frustrating! I was able to accumulate almost 100,000 coins on TR one! Why bother playing if my coins keep disappearing without me doing anything. Even my life time coins shows less numbers than they did yesterday.
