This Chinese holiday season will get exciting with Android powered smartphones by Meizu, Xiapmi, and Oppo. All three smartphone manufacturers have already introduced new devices that will be sold in the coming months. Meizu with its MX2, Xiaomi with its Mi2 and Oppo with its Find 5 are set to take over China.

Xiaomi cuts Mi-One price to $200 ahead of its new quad-core phone unveiling

The phone that puts Xiaomi in the smartphone map in China – and possibly the world – has finally received the obligatory price cut. Offered for RMB 1,999 when it first launched last year to great response from customers, the Xiaomi Mi-One can now be had for only RMB 1,299, which translates to about $200.

The Mi-One smartphone is a high-end offering from what is poised to become the next tech giant to come out from China. The specs of the Mi-One speak for themselves, as the phone boasts a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 processor, 4-inch WVGA display, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, the beloved MIUI ROM, and a 1,930mAh battery. Chinese Xiaomi Phone 2 to launch August 16 in seemingly indestructible packaging

The Chinese are apparently crazy over smartphones. After all, this country of 1 billion mobile phone users is the biggest and fastest-growing market for mobile devices today, and so brands are eager to get their wares marketed here.

However, the Chinese are also a practical community, and here’s where bang-for-the-buck (or yuan) is considered important. Smartphone maker Xiaomi, for one, has launched its Mi-One earlier this year to rave reviews. At 1,999 yuan ($300) a pop, the Mi-One was a premium smartphone with a not-so-premium price.

There is a wave of Chinese manufacturers looking to establish themselves in the international Android market. When we think Chinese OEMs, the first thought goes to companies that have have been frequenting tech shows with some amazing devices on offer, such as Huawei, ZTE, Baidu, and Meizu.
