Verizon may be looking to acquire WIND mobile in Canada

The issues with such a deal are not easily overcome for Verizon. There are certain criteria to be met when owning a foreign company, and their partnership with Vodafone limits their ability to deal independently. While obtaining WIND may be a good idea on paper, the reality is much more difficult than simply cutting a check.

LG Optimus 4X HD Canadian release delayed, Wind and Videotron to get exclusivity

LG treated the 4X HD more or less like a mediocre device, releasing it in Europe in late June, in Asia soon after, but not in key markets in North America. We heard about a Canadian release scheduled for the fall ever since late July, but alas it seems like the phone won’t be hitting the major carriers we were suspecting it to.

Huawei to launch Ascend P1 on WIND Mobile

The wafer-thin Huawei Ascend P1 is about to enter the Canadian market with a bang.  Teaming up with Alliance Films and Wind Mobile – as the phone’s first confirmed carrier in the country – Huawei Canada is holding a “WIND Mobile Expendables 2 Sweepstakes” contest. The lucky winner will get to go to Los Angeles to watch the movie premiere of “The Expendables 2”, starring action flick hero Sylvester Stallone.

But first, here’s more information about the Ascend P1 and its launch in Canada. Though the phone comes in a diminutive 7.6 mm body, it boasts a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display of 960×540 resolution,  1GB RAM, 4GB internal [...]
