Walmart has “no plans” to offer Google’s Nexus One

According to The Business Insider, Walmart will not stock Google’s Nexus One, despite the recent news spree that it will. Plenty of news websites had spotted the Nexus One available on the Walmart’s wireless site, but according to Walmart, this was a mistake. Here is what Walmart spokesman Ravi Jariwala had to say on the matter. “Due to a technical error, this item erroneously was displayed on our site. We’re working with our partner Let’s Talk to have it removed as quickly as possible. We have no plans to carry Nexus One in Walmart stores or online at Walmart.com at …

Google Nexus One coming soon to Walmart?

After a less than stellar start, Google may be expanding its retail options beyond its own online store and harnessing the retail power of Walmart to peddle its latest Android offering. An eagle eye reader over at Android Community noticed a rather detailed placeholder page for the Google Nexus One on Walmart’s wireless website. Though no pricing or availability is listed, interested parties can supposedly sign up to be alerted via email when the Nexus One becomes available. [via Walmart and Android Community]

Not much to talk about here, except that BGR is claiming that Walmart will sell the device in October for $148, which suggest a $149.99 price from T-Mobile direct – if it all turns out to be true. Walmart to sell the T-Mobile G1 for less?

EngadgetMobile is reporting that it has been tipped off by an anonymous source that mega-retailer Walmart will start offering the T-Mobile G1 as of November 24th. EngadgetMobile is also saying that Walmart will offer the G1 at a discounted price of US$148.88. That’s $31 in savings. This is all pure rumor and speculation at this point, of course, as nothing has been officially announced, but it is not the first time we’ve gotten reports of plans for the G1 to be sold at discount prices.
