The rumour mill is churning once more, with MobileChoiceUK setting things in motion this time around by stating that the HTC Magic, due for release exclusively to Vodafone, will actually be available on 1st May. This is at odds with what Vodafone’s own website stated a while back, when it was advertising the Magic as an April product. We have no word on where MobileChoiceUK got their information from, but if they are right we can probably assume that the other information they are publishing is also correct: that the Magic will also be free on contracts ranging from ÂŁ25…

The guys at Dutch site MobileCowboys.nl have posted some live shots from the CeBIT show in Germany of an HTC Magic in a black color scheme. It appears that Vodafone has let out the fact that it plans to make the new HTC Magic available to its customers in the U.K. next month, in April.  It isn’t providing a set date or even pricing information yet, though. Interested folks can register to be notified of the Magic’s availability on the Vodafone website. No word yet as to when other Vodafone markets will be able to purchase the Magic. You can see our video demo of the HTC Magic below.

Available initially in the UK, Spain, Germany and France, this is a tablet style device and although it is not the best looking thing in the world, we like it.  The G1 was certainly a developer’s device, lacking the style and cutting edge design afforded by the older Motorola phones or Apple. With that said, we like the look of the G2 somewhat more than the G1 and although…

Yesterday, the Open Handset Alliance (OHA) announced a plethora of 14 brand new members to its clan of supporters. There are some pretty big names floating around in the list, including the world’s fifth largest personal computer manufacturer (Toshiba), and the world’s fourth largest mobile handset manufacturer (Sony Ericsson). Throw in Garmin to find your way and Vodafone to give you signal and you’re set. Still missing from the list are the United States’ largest mobile carriers, AT&T and Verizon Wireless. The list of new OHA members follows:
